If you are lookiing for a full bodied merlot head to your local Trader Joe's and buy a bottle or case of 2006 Three Knights Merlot.  At only $6.99 a bottle it is our Vine Find of the week.  With hints of blackberry and an ever so slight peppery taste, it is a wine that tastes even better the next day.

Blue Fin Chardonnay

Our first extremely budget friendly Vine Find is priced at only $3.99 a bottle at Trader Joes.  The wine has light citrus notes with a hint of apple and pear. While it is a little bit sweeter than most chardonnays, it is the perfect accompaniment to spicer foods, such as Chinese, Indian or Mexican. Best served well chilled.

Drink of the Day

March 18th is National Oatmeal Cookie Day.  Instead of turning on the oven, grab your cocktail shaker and enjoy an Oatmeal Cookie Martini!

Oatmeal Cookie Martini

  • 1 1/2 oz Bailey's Irish Cream
  • 1 1/2 oz Butterscotch Schnapps
  • 1/2 oz Cinnamon Schnapps
  • 1/2 oz Jagermeister
  • 1/2 oz Half and Half
  • Simple Syrup
  • Cinnamon and Sugar
  • 5 Chocolate covered raisins

Rim a chilled martini glass with simple syrup.  Dip into the cinnamon and sugar mixture.  Next pour the liqueurs  and half and half into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.  Shake and strain into the rimmed martini glass. Garnish with a skewer of chocolate covered raisins.
